Our Team

One measure of a people-friendly practice is the longevity of its staff. Most of our dental professionals have been with us for years—decades, in some cases. As a result, our entire staff is well invested in our “patient first” philosophy. Because our staff members want patients to look forward to their appointments, they do everything possible to make your time with us feel like a visit with friends rather than a “procedure.”

Doctors

Cory W. Ernst, DMD

Dr. Ernst joined the practice in the fall of 2011. He earned his undergraduate degree in biology from Colby College in 2005, and spent the following year as a dental research assistant at the Forsyth Institute in Boston. He then earned his dental degree from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine in 2010. Dr. Ernst completed a general practice residency at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston in 2011.

Dr. Ernst enjoys continuing education and is an active member of the American Dental Association, Maine Dental Association, Greater Portland Dental Society, and the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Ernst enjoys staying active and spends a lot of time exploring the Portland area with his wife and daughters during his spare time. He also plays hockey and enjoys golfing during the summer season.

 

Dental Hygienists & Dental Assistants

Claire – Dental Hygienist

Claire is one of our dental hygienists who lives in Portland. She joined the practice in 1983 after she graduated from Bangor Community College with an Associate’s Degree in Dental Hygiene. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, listening to live music, trying new restaurants, and going for bike rides with her husband. Claire is best described as detail oriented, a wonderful cook and very caring! 

Favorite Part about Working in the Dental Field: “Developing long lasting relationships with my patients…I have so many patients that I’d love to meet up for a cup of tea or coffee!” 

 

Crystal – Dental Hygienist

Crystal is one of our dental hygienists as well as part-time assistants who lives in Auburn. She graduated from the University of Maine at Augusta with an Associate’s Degree in Dental Hygiene. She loves spending time with her family, reading The Word, and hiking with her husband and very active golden retriever and german shepherd, Oscar and Kali! Crystal is best described as kindhearted, patient and very positive to be around!

Favorite Part About Working in the Dental Field: “Being able to connect with patients, putting their needs first and helping them feel comfortable in the dental chair all while educating them the importance of oral health and disease prevention.” 

Shelby – Dental Hygienist

Shelby is one of our dental hygienists, and also has part-time assisting duties in the practice. She lives in Lewiston and graduated from the University of New England with a Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene. She loves to spend her time with her black lab Waylon, checking out new walking trails, fishing, and hanging out with friends. Shelby is best described as compassionate, a team player, and has a good sense of humor.

Favorite Part About Working in the Dental Field: “Helping build patients’ confidence and building a relationship with them as well”.

 

Brenda – Dental Assistant

Brenda is one of our dental assistants who lives in Falmouth. She has over 30 years of dental assistant experience. She enjoys gardening, knitting and spending time at her daughter’s farm in Camden! Brenda is best described as friendly, personable and has a great sense of humor!

Favorite Part About Working in the Dental Field: “There are too many to list!” 

 

 

Office Staff

Bernadette – Office Coordinator

Bernadette is one of our office administrators who lives in Gray on the lake.  She has over 27 years of practice administration.  She is also an experienced dental assistant with 28 years as a dental assistant instructor.  She is a graduate of Husson University with a dual degree in Business Administration and Accounting.  She is an avid gardener and enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Favorite Part About Working in the Dental Field: “Getting to help and assist people maintain their dental health.”

 

 

Mary – Office Coordinator

Mary is one of our front office administrators who lives in New Gloucester. She has 49 years of dental assistant experience and transitioned into working at the front office. She enjoys going for walks, taking care of her beautiful tropical fish, and keeping her four cats happy! Mary is best described as someone who strives to be kinder than necessary!
